Hi. My name is Dr. Siddharth Gupta. I hail from Jalandhar city in Punjab, India. I graduated with an MBBS degree from Government Medical College, Amritsar, in the year 2012. I worked as a doctor for a short while after that but ultimately switched careers and became an English teacher, as I find teaching to be a very fulfilling and satisfying profession. I have been teaching English since 2018. I have taught all types of students and students from multiple countries – school students from England and Australia as well as working professionals from India who are interested in improving their communication skills.

It was around the end of July 2023 when I first thought about becoming an IELTS trainer. I felt that I should sit for the exam once myself before taking on students, so I took the IELTS Academic test on 13th August ’23, and got a band 8 score in my first attempt. Since giving the exam, I have spent time looking up authentic online resources on IELTS preparation to gain a thorough understanding of the process, and as a result I have devised comprehensive strategies to obtain a perfect score in all of the test modules. These strategies are based on the official IELTS marking criteria/band descriptors, and are aimed at fulfilling all the criteria required for getting a band 9 score. My strategies also prepare students to avoid common pitfalls as well as myths and misconceptions that lower students’ score.
